Armando Martinez

Armando Martinez graduated from Montwood High School in 2004 and received a degree in political science and Spanish in 2008. As a scholar in 2003 he researched healthcare, specifically looking at Medicaid and CHIP. As a second year scholar in 2004 his group took a more in-depth look at Medicaid and CHIP cuts across the nation. Armando has supervised first year interns three times. In 2005, his group looked at the Regional Intermodal Rail Project and the Trans Texas Corridor; in 2006 the group analyzed the state of charity care in the Sun City; and in the summer of 2007 Armando supervised a group looking at Smart Growth and development trends in El Paso. He is currently the Canvass Director for Work for Progress in Austin, Texas working on their election campaign to get more people to vote in the presidential election.
